Miscellaneous Fee Schedule

Bankruptcy Court Fees Collected by the Clerk of Court

No Personal Checks or Credit Cards Will Be Accepted. Effective August 10, 2020, filing fees can be paid through web payment via debit card, PayPal or ACH. Payment of all fees in person or through the mail must be made in the form of cashier's check, money order, or exact cash. No change will be made by the Clerk's Office. Please do not send cash through the mail. Additionally, only attorneys may pay filing fees by credit card. Attorneys and non-debtor parties may pay copy charges by credit card.  Only attorneys may pay fees by check (for items that are not filed electronically) on an attorney's or law firm's preprinted check . All checks and money orders should be made payable to "Clerk, USBC"

Adversary Proceedings (when Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 debtor(s) are plaintiffs-no fee required)


If the trustee or debtor-in-possession files the complaint, the fee must be paid only by the estate, to the extent there is an estate.


This fee must not be charged if -

  • the debtor is the plaintiff; or
  • a child support creditor or representative files the complaint and submits the form required by § 304(g) of the Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1994.

Filing or Indexing a Document Not in a Case Already Filed: Miscellaneous filing in a case where no filing fee has been paid, including registering a judgment from another District.


Motion to vacate or modify automatic stay under Title 11 U.S.C. §362; withdraw reference of a case; or compel abandonment of property pursuant to Fed.R.Bankr.P. 6007(b); or to sell property of the estate free and clear of liens under 11 U.S.C. §363(f). The fee is not charged for a motion for relief from the codebtor stay provided in Title 11 U.S.C. §§ 1201, 1301. The fee is not charged when the Movant accompanies the motion with the form required by § 304 (g) of the Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1994.
