- Starting July 15, 2013, we will no longer accept payments in our office over the counter after 4:15 p.m. and we will be closing from 11:30 to 12:30 daily due to staff shortages. You will need to lodge your payment and/or any documents in our after hours secured box on the first floor during the lunch closure and after 4:15, then, we will mail your receipt and any other applicable documents the following business day, this INCLUDES payments for copies. Please note that court proceedings on CD must be paid for by credit card at the time the order is placed for attorneys and non-debtors, absent leave of the Court Clerk.

Bankruptcy Court Chief Judge - Judge Michael E. Romero was selected by the U.S. District Court Judges to serve a seven year term as the U.S. Bankruptcy Court's Chief Judge. Chief Judge Romero's term runs through June 30, 2021.

Revised Local Rules and implementation of two new General Procedural Orders effective July 1, 2014. - The bankruptcy judges for the U. S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Colorado are pleased to post the Local Bankruptcy Rules, Forms and Appendix, to be effective December 1, 2009 (UPDATED 7/1/2010, 1/1/2014 and 7/1/2014) for all pending and future cases. The latest revisions are implemented following a notice period and consideration of the public comments made to the Standing Local Rules Revision Committee and the bankruptcy judges. The majority of comments were directed at General Procedure Order 2014-4(b), resulting in a changed version that will be monitored for further comments in its application. As always, for any of the rules, forms, appendix or General Procedure Orders, please send your comments to LocalRule_comments@cob.uscourts.gov or mail them to the Chief Deputy, Kelly Sweeney, United States Bankruptcy Court, U.S. Custom House, 721 19th Street, Denver, Colorado 80202 (please identify the specific Local Rule or General Procedure Order to which your comment(s) relate). Please save the date for our open house! - On July 1, 2014, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, the United States Bankruptcy Court will be hosting an open house on the fifth floor of the US Custom House, 721 19th St., in Denver, in rooms 540 and 538. We will dedicate the plaques in the main fifth floor lobby listing all of the referees and judges who have served Colorado. In addition, there will be brief courtroom technology demonstrations at 3:15 and 4:00 in Courtroom D (Judge Romero's Courtroom).
